There was a small surprise in Bahia Blanca where eleventh ranked Wuber-Est.Bahia (6-8) smashed 9th ranked Boca Juniors (7-8) 96-76. The game was mostly controlled by Wuber-Est.Bahia. Boca Juniors was better in fourth quarter 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Boca Juniors 41-20 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Wuber-Est.Bahia players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for center Ariel Zago (203-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Puerto Rican power forward Ricardo Sanchez (212-87) contributed with 12 points and 6 assists for the winners. Five Wuber-Est.Bahia players scored in double figures. American swingman Will Graves (198-88, college: N.Carolina) answered with 22 points and the other American import guard Larry O'Bannon (194-83, college: Louisville, agency: Interperformances) added 20 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Boca Juniors. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Wuber-Est.Bahia maintains eleventh place with 6-8 record. Boca Juniors at the other side dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. Wuber-Est.Bahia's next round opponent will be GECR Indalo (#12) in Comodoro R..
