Not a big story in a game in Rio Tercero where 16th ranked Quilmes MP (3-12) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Club 9 (5-10) 78-60. It looked good early as Quilmes MP took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Club 9 had a 26-13 second period charge getting the lead and Quilmes MP was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 60-78. They outrebounded Quilmes MP 37-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Panamanian forward Josimar Ayarza (205-87, college: S.Mississippi) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Martin Melo (197-82) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Club 9 players scored in double figures. The former international center Axel Weigand (200-85) answered with 13 points and 6 rebounds and American-Venezuelan forward Clarence Matthews (201-83, college: Tennessee St.) added 14 points in the effort for Quilmes MP. Club 9 moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with GECR Indalo. Newly promoted Quilmes MP stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Club 9's next round opponent will be higher ranked Lanus (#6) in Buenos Aires and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quilmes MP will play on the road against the league's leader Obras (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
