Regular Season Round 26: Nitra - Svit 75-60

Extraliga top team - Nitra (17-5) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked Svit (10-12) 75-60. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Nitra's pressure prevailed and they won that period 20-12 extending their advantage to 15 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Svit's 38. They outrebounded Svit 49-26 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Puerto Rican point guard Denis Clemente (185-86, college: Kansas St., agency: KMG Sports Management) notched 21 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international center Branislav Tomek (205-83) supported him with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by Croatian center Ivica Cvitanovic (206-82) did not help to save the game for Svit. Croatian guard Petar Cosic (186-85, agency: Interperformances) added 11 points and 4 assists for the guests. Nitra have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-5 record. Svit at the other side keeps the sixth place with 12 games lost. Nitra will play against league's second-placed Prievidza on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Svit will play against Handlova (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
