Important game to mention about took place in Uusikaupunki. Tenth ranked UU-Korihait (9-15) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 7th ranked Kouvot (9-14) 83-80 on Friday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kouvot won third quarter 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Americans were the main players on the court. Swingman Nigel Moore (195-81, college: Alabama A&M) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Forward Cory Johnson (200-88, college: Valparaiso, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Antoine Jordan (196-83, college: Siena) replied with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Josh Gonner (188-82, college: S.Carolina) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Kouvot. Five UU-Korihait and four Kouvot players scored in double figures. UU-Korihait moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Salon Vilpas. Kouvot lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 14 games lost. UU-Korihait will face higher ranked LrNMKY (#6) in Lappeenranta in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
