Very expected game in Ottawa, ON where bottom-ranked RMC (0-13) was rolled over by second ranked Gee-Gees (9-5) 97-34 on Friday. The game without a history. Gee-Gees led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding RMC to just 6 points in second quarter and to 14 points in first half. Gee-Gees dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to RMC's 20 and had 23 for 34 from the free-throw line, while RMC only scored five points from the stripe. Gee-Gees forced 30 RMC turnovers and outrebounded them 48-26 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. RMC was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Christopher Anderson (191) fired 16 points and 9 steals for the winners. Guard Johnny Berhanemeskel (185) chipped in 13 points. Five Gee-Gees players scored in double figures. Alexandre Lavoie produced 14 points and guard James Byun (185) added 12 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gee-Gees maintains second place with 9-5 record having five points less than leader Lakehead. Loser RMC still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Gee-Gees will face Golden Gaels (#7) in Kingston, ON in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. RMC will play on the road against the league's leader Ravens in Ottawa, ON and hopes to get finally their first victory.
