No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Panasonic Trians (13-11) beat bottom-ranked Toshiba Thunders (2-22) in Kanagawa 90-81 on Friday. Toshiba Thunders trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 30-27 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 81-90 at the end of the game. Panasonic Trians made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a good game for guard Hironori Watanabe (180-88) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 4 assists. International swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American forward Chris Moss (204-80, college: W.Virginia) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Ryusei Shinoyama (178-88) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Toshiba Thunders. Four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Panasonic Trians maintains fourth position with 13-11 record. Toshiba Thunders lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 22 lost games. Panasonic Trians will face Tochigi Brex (#5) on the road in the next round. Toshiba Thunders will play against Hokkaido L. in Saporro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
