The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Toyota Alvark (19-5) in Fuchu on Friday night. Hosts were edged by sixth ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (10-14) 86-83. Toyota Alvark trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 30-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 83-86 at the end of the game. It was a good game for American forward Ron Hale (203-77, college: Florida St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds. The former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) contributed with 25 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Philip Ricci (202-80, college: Oregon St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Yusuke Okada (185-84) added 18 points in the effort for Toyota Alvark. Toyota Alvark's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mitsubishi Dolphins have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 10-14 record. Toyota Alvark at the other side still keeps top place with five games lost. Mitsubishi Dolphins are looking forward to face league's second-placed Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Toyota Alvark will play on the road against Hitachi Sunrockers in Osaka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
