Top ranked Vikies (10-3) recorded its third loss in Winnipeg, MB. Visitors were defeated by thirteenth ranked Wesmen (4-9) 75-71. Vikies were ahead by 13 points after three quarters before a 28-11 charge of Wesmen, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Vikies outrebounded Wesmen 40-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Mark McNee (198) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Andrew Cunningham (186, college: Redlands CC) contributed with 6 points and 10 assists for the winners. Guard Ryan Mackinnon (193-89) answered with 26 points and 6 rebounds and Michael Acheampong added 13 points in the effort for Vikies. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Wesmen moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Vikies at the other side still keep top position with three games lost. They share it with Windsor. Wesmen will play against league's second-placed Thunderbirds in Vancouver, BC in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vikies will play on the road against Bisons in Winnipeg, MB and hope to get back on the winning track.
