Regular Season Round 19: Laval - Concordia 66-78

Everything went according to plan in Quebec City, QC where leader Stingers (6-0) won against 4th placed Rouge et Or (3-4) 78-66 on Friday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Stingers dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Rouge et Or's 16. Stingers forced 20 Rouge et Or turnovers. Forward Evens Laroche (193) fired 20 points and 4 assists (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) for the winners. International point guard Kyle Desmarais (188-87, college: Cent.Conn.St.) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Stingers players scored in double figures. Naturalized Bosnian forward Boris Hadzimuratovic (204-91, college: High School) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and guard Xavier Baribeau (175-87) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Stingers have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. Loser Rouge et Or keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Stingers' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montreal, QC Redmen.
