The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Thunderwolves as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Thunderwolves defeated 4th placed Marauders in Thunder Bay, ON 83-76. Marauders were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Thunderwolves looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Naturalized Egyptian forward Yoosrie Salhia (198-87) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Ben Johnson (-88) chipped in 14 points and 6 assists. Adam Presutti produced 12 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Cam Michaud (198) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Laurier. Marauders at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Alberta. Marauders will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Thunderwolves will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Marauders in Hamilton, ON.
