Rather expected game when 4th ranked UFV (9-4) was defeated on the road by top-ranked Regina (12-0) 78-61 on Friday. Regina dominated on the defensive end, holding UFV to just 7 points in second quarter. They made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Polish guard Joanna Zalesiak (174-88, college: UTEP) had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Michelle Clarke (173-88, college: Purdue) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Regina's coach Dave Taylor allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was forward Kayli Santori (182) with 14 points and 9 rebounds and forward Nicole Wierks (178) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Regina have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-0 record. Loser UFV dropped to the third place with four games lost. Regina will face Trinity Western (#6) in Blaine in the next round where they are favorite. UFV will play on the road against Brandon.
