Everything went according to plan when first ranked Vikies (11-3) outplayed 6th ranked Bisons (8-6) in Winnipeg, MB 101-79 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Vikies. Bisons was better in second period 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 32-of-40 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Bisons only scored twelve points from the stripe. Bisons were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Zac Andrus (180) orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Terrell Evans contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Keith Omoerah (193) replied with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Kurtis Sansregret added 18 points in the effort for Bisons. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vikies maintains first position with 11-3 record, which they share with Windsor. Loser Bisons dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. Vikies will face Mustangs (#8) in London, ON in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
