Regular Season Round 3: Qatar - Al Gharafa 65-76

Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Doha: Al Gharrafah (#2) and Qatar Sports Club (#8). Qatar Sports Club was defeated at home 65-76 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Al Gharrafah dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Qatar Sports Club's 40. Al Gharrafah forced 24 Qatar Sports Club turnovers. It was a great evening for international swingman Ousseynou N'Diaye (196-85, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Boney Watson (183, college: Sam Houston St.) helped adding 20 points and 7 assists. Four Al Gharrafah players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Temi Soyebo (183-84, college: NC-Wilmington) with 29 points and 5 rebounds and Oumar Seck produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. Al Gharrafah have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Al Rayyan. Loser Qatar Sports Club still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Al Wakrah. Al Gharrafah's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Rayyan.
