Everything went according to plan when second ranked Niigata Albirex (16-9) defeated at home 7th ranked Yokohama BC (10-14) 94-78 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-78. Niigata Albirex made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. The game was also dominated by American players. Guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Power forward Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Niigata Albirex's coach Matt Garrison allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Justin Burrell (235-88, college: St.John's) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and center Chas McFarland (213-86, college: Wake Forest) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Yokohama BC. Five Niigata Albirex and four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Niigata Albirex maintains second place with 16-9 record having four points less than leader Akita NH, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing and Shiga L-Stars. Loser Yokohama BC keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. Niigata Albirex will face again Yokohama BC (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
