Not a big story in a game in Pozoan where 8th ranked Wilki Morskie (6-9) was edged by fourth ranked AZS PP Poznan (9-4) 71-70 on Saturday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Wilki Morskie was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Strangely Wilki Morskie outrebounded AZS PP Poznan 48-31 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when AZS PP Poznan made 13 blocks. Point guard Pawel Hybiak (173-89) fired 16 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks for the winners. Center Marek Sobkowiak (200-86) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Radoslaw Bojko (196-91) produced 22 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Igor Trela (206-89) added 11 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Wilki Morskie players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. AZS PP Poznan have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position in Group A with 9-4 record. Newly promoted Wilki Morskie dropped to the ninth place with nine games lost. AZS PP Poznan will face league's leader Open Florentyna in Pleszew in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Wilki Morskie will play at home against AZS UWM Olsz. (#6) in Olsztyn.
