A2 top team - Panelefsiniakos (12-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Pagrati (5-10) in Eleusina 102-69. It looked good early as Pagrati took an 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Panelefsiniakos took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 33 points. They made 23-of-26 charity shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Panelefsiniakos outrebounded Pagrati 42-27 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a quality performance for guard Giannis Kyriakopoulos (185-83) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 7 assists. Guard Spyros Magounis (200-85, agency: FCM) accounted for 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Five Panelefsiniakos players scored in double figures. Panelefsiniakos' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Apostolos Koutroulias (206-76) came up with 25 points and 8 rebounds and guard Christos Vidalis (188-85) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for Pagrati in the defeat. Panelefsiniakos maintains first place with 12-3 record. Pagrati lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with ten games lost. They share it with Periko/Arhelaos. Panelefsiniakos will play against OFI (#7) in Heraklion in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Pagrati will play on the road against Ikaroi Serron (#4) in Serres and hopes to get back on the winning track.
