It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Sparta. T71 managed to win third quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Larrie Smith (198-75, college: Tenn Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. International guard Tom Schumacher (190-87, college: Cal.Baptist) replied with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and American swingman Denell Stephens (193-86, college: Slippery Rock, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for T71. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sparta maintains second position with 12-4 record behind leader T71. Defending champion T71 still keeps top place with three games lost. Sparta are looking forward to face Basket Esch (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. T71 will play against Heffingen (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
