Regular Season Round 15: Perfumerias - Gran Canaria 70-53

No shocking result in a game in Salamanca where second ranked Perfumerias Avenida (13-2) defeated 8th ranked Gran Canaria (7-8) 70-53. It looked good early as Gran Canaria took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Perfumerias Avenida had a 20-10 second period charge getting the lead and Gran Canaria was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 53-70. They outrebounded Gran Canaria 46-30 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Isabel Sanchez (180-76, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led the winners and scored 18 points. Brazilian center Erika De Souza (197-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) accounted for 6 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. Perfumerias Avenida's coach Lucas Mondelo allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American D'andra Moss (178-88, college: VCU) came up with 23 points and 5 rebounds and Ivorian power forward Vanessa Ble (190-91) added 7 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Gran Canaria in the defeat. Perfumerias Avenida maintains second place with 13-2 record having just -9 point less than leader Ros Casares. Gran Canaria at the other side keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. Perfumerias Avenida's next round opponent will be Arranz-Jopisa Burgos (#9) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Gran Canaria will play against Navarra Pamplona.
