Very predictable result in Lugo where fourth ranked Maquinaria Ensino (8-3) outscored 13th ranked Universidad de Valladolid (2-10) 70-50 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Maquinaria Ensino. Universidad de Valladolid was better in fourth quarter 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maquinaria Ensino dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Universidad de Valladolid's 26. They outrebounded Universidad de Valladolid 43-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. American forward Utahya Drye (185-88, college: Virginia Tech) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Mireia Navarrete (184-80) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Maquinaria Ensino's coach Javier Munoz allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Leyre Carrascosa (202-93) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and center Maria Parro (182-85) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Maquinaria Ensino maintains fourth position in Group A with 8-3 record. Newly promoted Universidad de Valladolid keeps the thirteenth place with ten games lost. Maquinaria Ensino will face league's leader Socinsa Bembibre on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Universidad de Valladolid will play against Universitario de Ferrol (#8).
