There was no surprise when 12th ranked Navarra Pamplona (4-12) was defeated at home by third ranked Mann Filter (11-4) 59-55. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 18-11. But Navarra Pamplona won second period 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mann Filter forced 22 Navarra Pamplona turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for Greek forward Katerina Sotiriou (187-84, agency: FCM) who led the winners and scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Arhonda Covington (185-85, college: Louisville) accounted for 5 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Slovakian forward Simona Podesvova (186-83) came up with 8 points and 13 rebounds and guard Maria Asurmendi (169-86) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for Navarra Pamplona in the defeat. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Mann Filter. They maintain third place with 11-4 record having just -7 point less than leader Ros Casares. Navarra Pamplona at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Mann Filter's next round opponent will be Real Celta Vigo (#11) at home and are hoping to win another game. Navarra Pamplona will play against Gran Canaria in Las Palmas.
