Important game to mention about took place in Treviso. Twelfth ranked Otto Caserta (8-9) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 11th ranked Benetton Treviso (7-10) 73-71 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Benetton Treviso. The guests were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 17-14 run, which allowed them to win the game. Benetton Treviso was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Andre Collins (183-82, college: Loyola, MD) scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Andre Smith (203-85, college: N.Dakota St.) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Otto Caserta players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized Slovenian guard Sani Becirovic (196-81) with 21 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized American forward Jeffrey Viggiano (197-84, college: Massachusetts) scored 17 points. Otto Caserta moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Angelico BI. Benetton Treviso at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with ten games lost. They share it with Acea Roma. Otto Caserta will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Benetton Treviso will play on the road against Banca Tercas (#14) in Teramo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
