There was no surprise in Quaregnon where 7th ranked Belgacom Liege (5-8) was defeated by fifth ranked Dexia Mons-Hainaut (8-6) 86-75 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Dexia Mons-Hainaut. Belgacom Liege managed to win second period 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dexia Mons-Hainaut made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 25 Belgacom Liege turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Dexia Mons-Hainaut especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. The game was also dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Quincy Taylor (196-82, college: UAB) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Shan Foster (198-86, college: Vanderbilt) who added 19 points during the contest. At the losing side forward Josh Bostic (196-87, college: Findlay, OH) responded with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and point guard Dominic Waters (185-86, college: Portland St.) scored 12 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dexia Mons-Hainaut moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Antwerp. Belgacom Liege lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. Dexia Mons-Hainaut will meet Leuven Bears (#6) on the road in the next round. Belgacom Liege will play against VOO Verviers-Pepinster and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
