There was no surprise in Saskatoon where 10th ranked Thompson Rivers (5-9) were defeated by eighth ranked Saskatchewan (8-5) 70-62 on Saturday. The game without a history. Saskatchewan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Forward Katie Miyazaki (175-89) fired 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Dalyce Emmerson (191) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds. Saskatchewan's coach Lisa Thomaidis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Diane Schuetze (191) produced 31 points and 6 rebounds and guard Jorri Duxbury (170) added 4 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Saskatchewan have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place. Thompson Rivers lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with nine games lost. Saskatchewan will face Brandon (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
