Regular Season Round 19: Bishop's - Laval 72-56

Everything could happen in Sherbrooke at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Bishop's and 3rd placed Laval had identical 3-4 record. This time Bishop's used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Quebec City 72-56 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Bishop's. Laval was better in second period 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bishop's forced 35 Laval turnovers. Guard Jessica Roy (173) fired 16 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Riley Shkimba chipped in 16 points. The former international center Marie-Pascale Nadeau (188-89) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Jannie Jacques (178-90) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bishop's (4-4) moved-up to third place. Laval lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Bishop's will face league's leader Concordia in Montreal in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
