Undefeated Concordia (6-1) recorded its first loss in Montreal on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked McGill (5-3) 57-52. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Concordia. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 57-52. McGill forced 21 Concordia turnovers. Strangely Concordia outrebounded McGill 39-27 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Francoise Charest (168) fired 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Helene Bibeau (186) chipped in 16 points. McGill's coach Ryan Thorne used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Anne-Marie Prophete (178) produced 19 points and 6 rebounds and guard Magalie Beaulieu (170) added 7 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. McGill have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 5-3 record having thirteen points less than leader Windsor. Concordia at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. McGill's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montreal UQAM.
