Regular Season Round 15: B.Gais Neptune - DCU Saints 85-86

Second-ranked B.Gais Neptune (8-6) gave a tough game to first ranked DCU Saints (14-2) in Cork on Sunday. The visitors from Dublin managed to secure only one-point victory 86-85. However their fans expected easier game. DCU Saints forced 21 B.Gais Neptune turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for guard Keith Anderson (188-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Latvian center Martins Provizors (202-87) helped adding 11 points and 10 rebounds. Four DCU Saints players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Ronald Thompson (208-81, college: Morehouse) with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Gerard Noonan (180-82) scored 9 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. DCU Saints have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-2 record. B.Gais Neptune at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. DCU Saints are looking forward to face Belfast Star (#4) on the road in the next round. B.Gais Neptune's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Cork UCC Demons.
