There was no surprise when 10th ranked Assi Ostuni (6-10) was defeated on the road by third ranked Enel Brindisi (11-5) 88-77 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Enel Brindisi. Assi Ostuni was better in fourth quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Enel Brindisi shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. The best player for the winners was American guard Jimmy Hunter (196-77, college: Life) who scored 28 points. Naturalized American forward Craig Callahan (203-81, college: NC-Wilmington, agency: Court Side) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Enel Brindisi players scored in double figures. American guard Aaron Johnson (172-88, college: UAB) produced 20 points and Latvian swingman Mareks Jurevicus (198-85) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Enel Brindisi have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Giorgio Tesi PT. Assi Ostuni lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. Enel Brindisi will face league's second-placed Tuscany Pistoia on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Assi Ostuni will play against MarcoPoloShop.it (#10) in Forli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
