Regular Season Round 20: Anagni - Castelletto 98-81

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Castelletto (8-12) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Anagni (7-13) 98-81 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Anagni. Castelletto was better in third quarter 25-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Castelletto 36-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. Anagni shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 65.2 percentage. The best player for the winners was forward Jacopo Pozzi (200-87) who scored 32 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all seven shots !!!). Nicolo Benedusi (193-88) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Anagni's coach Luciano Nunzi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international swingman Simone Cotani (201-81) produced 23 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Simone Ferrarese (182-87) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Anagni moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Comsum.it SI and Fabriano. Castelletto lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with 12 games lost. Anagni will face league's leader Omegna on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Castelletto will play against the league's leader Napoli.
