Very important is a home loss of second ranked Niigata Albirex (16-10) against seventh ranked Yokohama BC (11-14) on Sunday night. Host Niigata Albirex was defeated by Yokohama BC in Niigata 95-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Niigata Albirex. Yokohama BC made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. American forward Justin Burrell (235-88, college: St.John's) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Masayuki Kabaya (183-82) chipped in 21 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American power forward Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont) with 18 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Yuichi Ikeda (191-83) scored 16 points. Four Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Yokohama BC moved-up to sixth place. Loser Niigata Albirex keeps the second position with ten games lost. Yokohama BC will face league's leader Akita Happinets at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Niigata Albirex will play against Hamamatsu Phoenix in Mikawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
