The guests trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they stormed back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 12 points. Cairns Taipans forced 19 Adelaide 36ers turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jamar Wilson (185-84, college: Albany, agency: Pro One Sports) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 4 assists and the former international power forward Alexander Loughton (205-83, college: ODU) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Cairns Taipans players scored in double figures. At the losing side international swingman Stephen Weigh (198-87) responded with 21 points and center Daniel Johnson (212-88, college: Pepperdine) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Adelaide 36ers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cairns Taipans moved-up to third place. Adelaide 36ers lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. Cairns Taipans will face Gold Coast Blaze (#6) in Broadbeach in the next round. Adelaide 36ers will play on the road against Townsville Crocodiles in Wulguru.
