No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked B.C. Habikaa (8-4) beat 9th ranked Elitzur Holon (3-9) in Kiryat Ono 67-61 on Monday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 67-61. B.C. Habikaa made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. Center Jenna Smith (191-88, college: Illinois) nailed a double-double by scoring 26 points and 16 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) for the winning side and forward Amanda Thompson (183-87, college: Oklahoma) accounted for 11 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Marcedes Walker (191-86, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Merit Sports) came up with 15 points and 9 rebounds and guard Brittani Shells (170-89, college: Richmond, agency: Merit Sports) added 11 points and 5 assists respectively for Elitzur Holon in the defeat. Four Elitzur Holon players scored in double figures. B.C. Habikaa have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Ramat Hasharon. Loser Elitzur Holon keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. They share it with Elitzur Netanya. B.C. Habikaa will meet Maccabi Ramat Hen (#5) on the road in the next round. Elitzur Holon will play against Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
