Bottom-ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba managed to get a fourth victory on Tuesday night. This time they edged sixth-ranked Hod Hasharon 95-94. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hod Hasharon won third quarter 28-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Hapoel Kfar Saba won last quarter 26-27. They made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Hapoel Kfar Saba outrebounded Hod Hasharon 45-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. 26 personal fouls committed by Hod Hasharon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American forward Marshall Moses (198-89, college: Oklahoma St.) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) contributed with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Hapoel Kfar Saba's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international guard Avi Sukar (187-76) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists and naturalized Latvian swingman Gary Gandel (203-80) added 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Hod Hasharon. Five Hod Hasharon players scored in double figures. Hapoel Kfar Saba (4-11) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Hapoel Y/M. Hod Hasharon at the other side dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Hapoel Kfar Saba is looking forward to face higher ranked Elitzur Ramla (#10) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hod Hasharon will play against Kiryat Tivon in Kiryat Tivon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
