Rather expected game when 8th ranked Canberra Capitals (7-12) were crushed on the road by sixth ranked Sydney Uni Flames (11-8) 97-68. The game without a history. Sydney Uni Flames led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Canberra Capitals' 40 and made 24-of-28 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Sydney Uni Flames forced 23 Canberra Capitals turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Canberra Capitals helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for the former international forward Belinda Snell (181-81) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Power forward Ellyce Ironmonger (193-89, college: Oregon) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Four Sydney Uni Flames players scored in double figures. Sydney Uni Flames moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Dandenong R. and Bendigo S. Canberra Capitals lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. Sydney Uni Flames' next round opponent will be Dandenong Rangers (#6) at home. Canberra Capitals will play against Logan Thunder in Loganholme and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
