An interesting game for Chanson V-M (17-6) which hosted in Shizuoka 3rd placed Aishin Wings (8-15). Second ranked Chanson V-M had an easy win 70-40. The game was mostly controlled by Chanson V-M. Aishin Wings was better in third quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Aishin Wings to just 5 points in second quarter and to 14 points in first half. Chanson V-M held Aishin Wings to an opponent 23.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 45.5 percent accuracy of the winners. Chanson V-M forced 23 Aishin Wings turnovers and outrebounded them 42-30 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and swingman Key Miho (176-85) chipped in 9 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side forward Aya Goto (173-89) responded with 10 points and forward Yuka Maeda (173-84) scored 8 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Chanson V-M went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with Toyota A. Aishin Wings at the other side dropped to the eighth place with 15 games lost. Chanson V-M will play against Niigata (#6) in Tokyo in the next round. Aishin Wings will play at home against the league's second-placed Fujitsu RW in Kawasaki and hope to get back on the winning track.
