No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Fujitsu RW (19-4) crushed 7th ranked Niigata (10-13) in Kawasaki 76-46 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Fujitsu RW. Niigata managed to win fourth quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Niigata to just 6 points in first quarter. Fujitsu RW forced 20 Niigata turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. Swingman Tika Yamamoto (175-91) nailed 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and international forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) accounted for 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Sangi Kanade (169-86) came up with 18 points and guard Seiko Kawakami (165-88) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Niigata in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Fujitsu RW. They moved-up to second place. Niigata lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with 13 games lost. Fujitsu RW will meet Aishin Wings (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Niigata will play against Chanson V-M in Shizuoka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
