WNBL top team - Adelaide Lightning (16-3) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat fifth ranked Logan Thunder (10-7) in Loganholme 63-52. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Logan Thunder. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Adelaide Lightning forced 20 Logan Thunder turnovers and outrebounded them 43-32 including 31 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was international center Abby Bishop (189-88) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. The former international guard Jennifer Screen (180-82) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international center Cayla Francis (192-89) who recorded 8 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks and the former international guard Renae Camino (177-86) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Adelaide Lightning. They maintain first place with 16-3 record. Loser Logan Thunder dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Adelaide Lightning will meet Bendigo Spirit (#4) on the road in the next round. Logan Thunder will play against the league's second-placed Bulleen Boomers in Melbourne and hope to secure a win.
