We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Lethbridge, AB where eighth ranked Pronghorn (8-7) defeated 7th ranked Bisons (8-7) 103-89 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Pronghorn. Bisons was better in fourth quarter 27-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Bisons 57-19 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Dominyc Coward (198) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Daryl Cooper chipped in 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side guard Xavier Smith (188) responded with 20 points and American guard Stephan Walton (175-87, college: Valdosta St.) scored 15 points and 4 steals. Four Pronghorn and five Bisons players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pronghorn have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Bisons. Bisons lost third consecutive game. Pronghorn will face again Bisons (#8) in Winnipeg, MB in the next round.
