The game between Top Four teams took place in Windsor, ON. 3rd ranked host Lancers (11-4) lost to second ranked Thunderwolves (13-2) 87-83. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Lancers. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 19-10. But Lancers won second period 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Thunderwolves made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Lancers turnovers. Strangely Lancers outrebounded Thunderwolves 40-27 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Venzal Russel (188-87, college: Vermilion CC) fired 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Ben Johnson (-88) chipped in 19 points. Thunderwolves' coach Scott Morrison used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. International forward Lien Phillip (203-89) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and guard Enrico Diloreto (186-90) added 22 points respectively for lost side. Thunderwolves have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Laurier. Loser Lancers keep the third place with four games lost. Thunderwolves will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lancers will play again against the league's leader Thunderwolves in Thunder Bay, ON and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
