Bottom-ranked Namika Lahti managed to get a seventh victory, breaking the two-game losing streak on Friday night. This time they edged fifth-ranked Torpan Pojat in Helsinki 88-86. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 24-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Namika Lahti made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. At the losing side American guard Chase Griffin (188-83, college: Pepperdine) responded with 39 points (!!!) and 5 assists and international forward Kimmo Muurinen (202-81, college: UALR) scored 12 points. Namika Lahti maintains eleventh position with 7-19 record. Loser Torpan Pojat keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. Namika Lahti will meet at home higher ranked Tampereen Pyrinto (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Torpan Pojat will play against the league's leader Joensuun Kataja having rather not much hope for a victory.
