The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Perth Wildcats as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Perth Wildcats smashed 3rd placed Townsville Crocodiles at home 87-55. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Townsville Crocodiles. The game without a history. Perth Wildcats led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Townsville Crocodiles' 30. Perth Wildcats forced 20 Townsville Crocodiles turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international forward Shawn Redhage (203-81, college: Arizona St., agency: Warren Sports International) stepped up and scored 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and international forward Jesse Wagstaff (203-86, college: Metro St.) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Four Perth Wildcats players scored in double figures. Perth Wildcats' coach Rob Beveridge felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Jacob Holmes (201-83) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and the former international swingman Peter Crawford (193-79) scored 11 points and 4 steals. Perth Wildcats (14-5) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Breakers. Townsville Crocodiles at the other side keep the third place with seven games lost. Townsville Crocodiles will play next round against Adelaide 36ers trying to get back on the winning streak. Perth Wildcats will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked New Zealand Breakers in Auckland.
