Regular Season Round 16: Vigarano - Marghera 62-65

There was a surprise result when seventh ranked Marghera (8-7) edged on the road much higher ranked Vigarano (13-3) 65-62 on Saturday. Vigarano was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 16-12 charge of Marghera, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 21 Vigarano turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Bulgarian forward Anna Rimpova (183-82) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and guard Erika Striulli (171-90) who added 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Polish forward Magdalena Losi (173-80) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and guard Marika Zanardi (175-81) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Marghera have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place in North. Loser Vigarano keeps the second position with three games lost. Marghera will face higher ranked San Martino (#4) in San Martino di L in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vigarano will play on the road against Bolzano.
