A1 top team - Athinaikos (15-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat tenth ranked PAOK (4-11) in Thessaloniki 62-52. The game was mostly controlled by Athinaikos. PAOK was better in third quarter 15-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for Bulgarian center Vera Perostiyska (196-82, college: FIU) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. The former international guard Lolita Lymoura (180-85, agency: LBM Management) helped adding 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The best for the losing side was American guard Quenese Davis (178-88, college: San Diego St.) with 11 points and swingman Stavroula Spanidou (180-84) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Athinaikos have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 15-0 record. PAOK lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Aris. Athinaikos will play against Apollon Kal. (#11) in Kalamarias in the next round and are hoping to win another game. PAOK will play on the road against Panionios in Athens and hopes to get back on the winning track.
