There was an upset when higher ranked Pomezia (5-9) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Il Fotoamatore Firenze (2-14) 63-52 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Il Fotoamatore Firenze dominated on the defensive end, holding Pomezia to just 7 points in first quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Ilaria Stefanini (175-84) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 6 rebounds and Bulgarian center Lilyana Ilieva (191-88) who added 12 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Il Fotoamatore Firenze players scored in double figures. At the losing side Bulgarian swingman Daniela Georgieva (184-86) responded with 17 points and power forward Laura Gelfusa (186-79) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Il Fotoamatore Firenze moved-up to thirteenth place in South, which they share with Viterbo. Loser Pomezia keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Il Fotoamatore Firenze will face higher ranked Battipaglia (#9) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
