Regular Season Round 31: Okinawa GK - Shinshu BW 75-72

Seventh-ranked Shinshu BW (11-16) gave a tough game to first ranked Okinawa GK (21-6) on Saturday. Okinawa GK managed to secure only three-point victory 75-72. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Shinshu BW won third quarter 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Center Jeff Newton (205-81, college: Indiana) fired 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Lee Roberts (201-87, college: Findlay, OH) produced 15 points and 8 rebounds and guard Derek Raivio (190-84, college: Gonzaga, agency: Priority Sports) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Okinawa GK maintains first place with 21-6 record. Shinshu BW lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 16 games lost. Okinawa GK will again meet at home Shinshu BW (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Shinshu BW will have a break next round.
