Regular Season Round 23: Saskatchewan - Brandon 89-70

There was no surprise in Saskatoon, SK where 11th ranked Bobcats (5-11) were crushed by third ranked Huskies (11-4) 89-70 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was international forward Michael Lieffers (203-87) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). American point guard Jamelle Barrett (180) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists. Four Huskies players scored in double figures. Ali Mounir produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds and forward Donovan Gayle (193) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Bobcats' coach gave the chance to play for eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Huskies have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain third place with 11-4 record having eight points less than leader UBC. Bobcats lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
