Regular Season Round 13: Aishin SH - Mitsubishi DD 85-75

Rather predictable result in Kariya where second ranked Aishin Sea Horses (19-7) defeated 6th ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (10-16) 85-75. The game was mostly controlled by Aishin Sea Horses. Mitsubishi Dolphins was better in fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Aishin Sea Horses especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. It was a very good performance for the former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international point guard Shinsuke Kashiwagi (183-81) contributed with 13 points and 7 assists for the winners. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Power forward Jun Uzawa (197-81) answered with 24 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) added 19 points and 4 assists in the effort for Mitsubishi Dolphins. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Defending champion maintains second place with 19-7 record behind leader Toyota Alvark. Mitsubishi Dolphins lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with 16 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses' next round opponent will be league's leader Toyota Alvark in Fuchu and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play at home against Hitachi Sunrockers (#3) in Osaka.
