The game between Top Four teams took place in Osaka. 3rd placed host Hitachi Sunrockers (15-11) were smashed by first ranked Toyota Alvark (20-6) 87-56. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hitachi Sunrockers. The game without a history. Toyota Alvark led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Toyota Alvark outrebounded Hitachi Sunrockers 45-20 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Philip Ricci (202-80, college: Oregon St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) accounted for 14 points and 12 rebounds. Five Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. International power forward Joji Takeuchi (206-85, agency: N.E.T.) came up with 9 points and Swedish forward Christian Maraker (206-82, college: Pacific) added 7 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Hitachi Sunrockers in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyota Alvark maintains first place with 20-6 record. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side keep the third position with 11 games lost. They share it with Panasonic T.. Toyota Alvark will play against league's second-placed Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hitachi Sunrockers will play on the road against Mitsubishi Dolphins in Nagoya and hope to get back on the winning track.
