Very important is a road loss of third ranked Bennet Cantu (11-7) against eighth ranked Banco di Sard. (10-8) on Saturday night. Visiting Bennet Cantu was defeated by Banco di Sard. in a tough game in Sassari 67-74. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bennet Cantu. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. American-Georgian swingman Quinton Hosley (201-84, college: Fresno St.) fired 22 points for the winners. American guard Drake Diener (196-81, college: De Paul, agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 20 points. Serbian forward Vladimir Micov (203-85, agency: Beo Basket) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American-Swiss power forward Greg Brunner (201-83, college: Iowa) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Banco di Sard. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Sidigas AV. Bennet Cantu at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Armani MI and Scavolini PS.
