Regular Season Round 31: Fukuoka Rizing - Osaka Evessa 79-82

A very interesting game took place in Fukuoka. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (17-10) to third ranked Osaka Evessa (18-7) 82-79 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fukuoka Rizing. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Fukuoka Rizing won third quarter 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Fukuoka Rizing helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Cohey Aoki (167-80) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 4 assists. American forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Carlos Dixon (201-81, college: Virginia Tech) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Jun Nakanishi (180-82, college: Santa Monica CC) added 22 points in the effort for Fukuoka Rizing. Four Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Osaka Evessa moved-up to second place, which they share with Kyoto Hannar. Fukuoka Rizing at the other side still keeps top position with ten games lost. Osaka Evessa will have a break next round. Fukuoka Rizing will play again at home against the league's second-placed Osaka Evessa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
