Regular Season Round 16: Alghero - Borgotaro 47-51

There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Borgotaro (4-12) won against on the road 11th ranked Alghero (4-13) 51-47 on Saturday. Alghero was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 18-10 charge of Borgotaro, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Silvia Martini (178-87) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Eleonora Catellani (185-85) who added 11 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Bulgarian power forward Radostina Slavova-Naneva (188-86) responded with 9 points and 15 rebounds and guard Cristina Mei (179-85) scored 12 points. Borgotaro moved-up to twelfth place in North. Loser Alghero dropped to the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Borgotaro will face higher ranked Virtus Cagliari (#8) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Alghero will play against the league's leader Meccanica NB (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
